A book box, made from an 18th century volume of Plutarch. 24pp. of text, the remainder of the volume converted into a paper lined box. Ticket of Antiquities Raymond of Paris to front pastedown.
A very good example, rebacked.
An eighteenth-century ‘blook’, a printed edition of Plutarch with the majority hollowed out to make it into a box. Unlike later mass produced ready-made ‘blooks’, this was seemingly made by an early owner.
