The Holland House copy of the first edition of the Hitopadesha.

Octavo. Contemporary sprinkled calf, spine and corners renewed, with gilt title to spine. A very good copy, rebacked and recornered. Title page laid down, wanting half title.

PROVENANCE: Henry, 3rd Lord Holland (1773-1840), with the Holland House bookplate to the front pastedown. The Holland House library was bombed in 1940, damaging many of the books, so it is unsurprising that the present volume is rebacked.
