Three volumes. First editions, first printings. All bound in the publisher’s red cloth.
The Return Of The King is in the original dustwrapper. The Fellowship Of The Ring is in a second impression dustwrapper, and The Two Towers is in a third impression dustwrapper.
The Return Of The King is in the first state with no signature mark and undamaged text on p. 49. A near fine set, generally very fresh. The spine of the first volume is very slightly faded, with a strip of fading to the upper cover on account of the shortness of the supplied dustwrapper.
The dustwrapper of the third volume is very good, the spine a little faded and dusty, light wear to spine ends, crudely price-clipped. The two supplied dustwrappers are both very good, toned of spines, with a small tape repair to the second volume.
A complete set of first printings of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord Of The Rings.
