A very rare example of David Bryce's 'Mite Quran' printed in gold. 64mo (26 x 18 mm). Original richly gilt decorated black morocco. Printed in gold on fine India paper. Housed in the original locket, with inset magnifying glass.
A bright, clean, near fine example. Complete, with very crisp impressions and fine, legible text.
An exceptional and rare survival - Bryce's Miniature Quran printed in gold, one of very few known copies of one of only three miniature books printed in gold. David Bryce produced his extraordinarily popular Miniature Quran in six states, five printed in black, but only one in gold. This is a rare example of the last type. We have traced just three other examples of Bryce's gold Quran in commerce.
