Beyond Bayeux: Rare Treasures from the Society’s Collections - Tuesday 1st December 2026
On Tuesday 1st December we are co-hosting an evening at the Society Of Antiquaries for an exclusive private view of the Society’s most remarkable and rarely displayed works on paper.

From Charles Stothard’s celebrated hand-coloured etchings of the Bayeux Tapestry to Thomas Kerrich’s evocative drawings of Tudor portraits, discover how artists and antiquaries recorded Britain’s past before.

Guided by the Society’s Assistant Curator Dr Chiair Betti and Tom Ayling, this intimate evening offers a unique opportunity to explore rarely seen treasures. Artist, Rory Hutton, reinterpreter of historical themes with a contemporary twist, will introduce his Bayeux inspired collections.
There will also be an opportunity to view books from our own Bayeux Tapestry collection.
