First editions of the first two parts of Maittaire’s great work on early printing, the first of its kind. This set comprises everything published up to 1722, being the first volume, and both parts of the second volume. A third volume was later issued in two parts in 1725-6. Three volumes. Quarto. Bound in contemporary calf, with gilt title label to the first volume, now wanting from the second and third. Frontispiece’s to each volume.
