An early seventeenth century Latin Bible in a striking contemporary binding. Octavo. In a contemporary binding of calf over wood, and elaborately decorated gilt to both covers and the spine. There is a lamb of god motif to the centre of each cover, housed within two gilt frames and surrounded by two half wheels. The gilt ornamentation continues around both covers and to the compartments of the spine. Only the lower clasp remains. All edges gilt and gauffered.
 
A very good copy in an attractive binding. A little wear to the spine ends, upper joint starting.
