Pickering’s Diamond Classic edition of the Iliad and the Odyssey. Two volumes (84x48mm). Bound in contemporary green morocco, lettered gilt to the spine, all edges gilt.

A very good copy. Ownership stamps and inscriptions of R.A. Edgell.

A lovely example of Pickering’s Diamond Classic edition of the Odyssey and Iliad. Pickering began issuing this series of classic books in 1819, printing in Diamond 4.5 point type. The books are heralded for the clarity of the printing despite their small size.
