A fragment of a single leaf on parchment, c. 215 x 200 mm, from a Bible with acanthus leaf border decoration. The fragment is ruled in brown ink, c. 142 x 66 mm (remaining ruled area) for two columns of nineteen lines in brown ink in a gothic script, rubrics in red, with four two-line initials alternating in red or blue, and one four-line initial in red, highlights in red. Inner and lower margin decoration of acanthus leaves in pink, blue, green, red and gold with gold discs. The text contains extracts from the Bible, including Romans and Matthew.
 
This is a very good example of a fragment with amateur repair work. The upper and right hand margin part of the leaf has been cut and removed, with text and decoration loss. There is approximately c. 112 mm loss from the top and c. 38 mm loss from the right margin. The parchment was crudely cut to the upper left corner, and has since been repaired with two pieces of parchment seemingly from the same manuscript pasted to the verso. Some parchment deterioration due to iron gall pigment, some worm holes. General discolouration, rubbing and marks.
