The Domesday Book was first published in 1783, but contained only the text of the Book, so in 1811 the Records Commission published a volume of Indices, and for 1816 Henry Ellis gathered this group of Additamenta, an edition of the minor Domesday texts (Exeter, Ely, Winchester, Boldon), with an engraved plate from each.
