First edition. Octavo. Publisher’s original pictorial red cloth, lettered gilt to the spine, lettered and decorated in black and black to upper cover.
 
A bright copy, very good indeed. Slight bumps and rubs to the corners, browning to endpapers, newspaper clipping affixed the the recto of the frontispiece, two further clippings loosely laid in at rear. Slight splits to hinges, sound; but with some webbing showing. Old paperclip marks to pp. 176-182. Bookplate to front pastedown.
