A variorum edition of Gellius’s Attic Nights. Quarto. Bound in full contemporary vellum, manuscript titles to spine.
A very good copy indeed.
An attractive and scholarly edition of Gellius’s only known work, his Attic Nights, a commonplace book of Latin authors on a wide range of subjects, including on philosophy, history, geometry and grammar. It is so named as he began work on it during long nights while staying in Attica.
