"But in the lack of an under-plot to play against Lucy's little triangle, it is always going to seem too this for a film demanding first-class acting." 2. A PASSAGE TO INDIA. 5pp. Typed on rectos only. Dated 14th April 1960. Based on Santha Rama Rau's stage adaptation of the novel: "This piece is playing to full houses in Oxford and is rapturously received."
Two Elstree Studios reader's report for E.M. Forster's A Room With A View and A Passage To India. Film production companies have been basing themselves at Elstree since 1914, and in most cases, their archives have been dispersed, lost or destroyed. This unique and hitherto unknown document from surviving ABPC reader reports has not been seen since its composition seventy years ago and has never before been offered for sale.
