Decorated with one three-line gold initial on pink and blue grounds with white highlights, twenty four single-line gold initials on pink and blue grounds with white highlights and twenty-two single-line line fillers with gold spots or zig-zags on pink and blue grounds with white highlights, with a partial border of ivy vine leaves in gold, with blue and pink flowers.
A single leaf on parchment, c. 195 x 149 mm, ruled in ink, c. 104 x 83 mm (ruled), written over fifteen lines in brown ink, red rubrics, with red line highlights, in a gothic script.
The text opens the Litany of Saints with the three letter initial ‘K’ for ‘Kyrie eleison’, (Lord have mercy upon us) to the recto. The verso ends with the Litany ‘Sancte barnaba’ (Saint Barnaby).
A very good example indeed. The parchment is crisp and bright, with the exception of minor discolouration from the mount, some offsetting, and slight some rippling.
PROVENANCE: This leaf is from the same parent manuscript as SKU: 2052. This leaf is the initial leaf, and 2052 is the subsequent leaf.
