A single leaf on parchment, c. 159 x 114 mm (c. 106 x 72 mm) with a three-line initial in blue with red pen work ornaments extending down the inner margin.
Ruled in ink for two columns of 32, written in a gothic script in brown ink, rubrics and pagination in red, and 36 single line initials alternating in red or blue with pen flourishing. Scribal corrections to text on the recto. IHS (Jesus) ink annotation to upper central margin of recto. Later pencil note to the lower margin of the verso, reading ‘1420 Italy Missal.’
The text from the second column of the recto opens Psalm 21:2, ‘Deus deo meu[s] respice i[n] me’, (‘God, my God, look upon me’), which continues on the verso.
A very good example of a manuscript leaf. There is some browning to the parchment, possibly wax staining over the text with one small spot obscuring a word. There is some rubbing of the script, particularly to the verso.
