A single leaf on parchment, c. 159 x 114 mm (c. 105 x 73 mm) with three three-line initials alternating in red or blue, with the red three-line initial having elaborate purple pen ornaments extending in the inner margin.
Ruled in ink for two columns of 32, written in a gothic script in brown ink, rubrics and pagination in red, and 32 single line initials alternating in red or blue. There is a scribal correction in the inner margin to the verso.
The text contains Psalm 145 which begins on the second column of the recto with the decorated three-line initial: ‘Lauda, an[im]a mea, d[omi]nu[m]: laudabo d[omi]nu[m] i[n] vita mea’, (’Praise the Lord, my soul: I will praise the Lord while I live’).
A later pencil notation to the lower margin of the recto, ‘1420 Italy Missal.’ A very good example of a manuscript leaf. The parchment is bright with occasional discolouration and one crease to the upper margin, with two mounting tabs the inner margin of the verso, some iron ink corrosion to the script which impacts visibility of script, some rubbing of script.
