A single leaf on parchment, c. 159 x 114 mm (c. 105 x 73 mm) with five three-line initials alternating in red or blue, with the red three-line initials having elaborate purple pen ornaments extending in the margins.
Ruled in ink for two columns of 32, written in a gothic script in brown ink, rubrics and pagination in red, and 21 single line initials alternating in red or blue, with yellow highlights. There is a scribal correction to the lower margin of the recto.
The text under the rubric on the recto contains Psalm 84:5 ‘Converte nos de[u]s salutaris n[oste]r. p̄ Et av[er]te ira[m] tua[m] a nob[is]’, (’Convert us, O God our Savior, and turn away your anger from us’).
A later pencil notation to the lower margin of the recto, ‘1420 Italy Missal.’ A very good example of a medieval manuscript leaf. The parchment is generally bright, the outer and lower margin is thumbed, there is a significant tear to the parchment which leaves the inner corner wanting - this does not impact the script, the script is slightly rubbed with some iron gall ink corrosion.
