A single leaf on parchment, c. 545 x 330 mm, with one red initial with purple flourishing and large letter spacing to aid intonation.
The music is in square notation on four and five-line staves ruled in red with six lines of lyrics, ruled in ink, c. 412 x 235 mm (ruled), the text is written in black ink, with rubrics in red ink, in gothic script, with foliation in the upper margin, some binding thread remains on the inner margin.
The antiphona toward the bottom of the recto beginning with the decorated initial reads, ‘Ornaverunt faciem templi coronis aureis et dedicaverunt altare domino et facta est laetitia magna in populo’, (‘They adorned the facade of the temple with golden crowns, and they dedicated the altar to the Lord, and great joy arose among the people’). This continues to the top of the verso.
A very good example, the parchment is slightly browned, the top margin of the leaf appears to have become wet, then mouldy and then rotted away. Small diagonal slit to parchment.
