A single leaf on parchment, c. 169 x 109 mm, from an attractive Book of Hours with geometric line fillers. The leaf is ruled in red ink, c. 89 x 63 mm (ruled), written on fifteen lines in brown ink in a gothic script, with line fillers in burnished gold, red, and blue with white tracery detailing and one flower in black ink with a gold centre acting as a line filler, with twelve single-line burnished gold initials on red and blue grounds with white tracery. The text contains the Canticum trium puerorum (Song of the three children, Daniel 3) found at the Hour of Lauds in the Book of Hours. The recto opens with bened’[icite] gelu et frigus d[omi]n[o], (frost and cold bless our Lord). The verso finishes on cu[m] s[an]c[t]o sp[irit]u laudemus et super[-exaltemus], (with the Holy Spirit let us praise and highly exalt Him).
 
A very good example. The extremities have been rubbed due to exposure, slight discolouration and some spots to the parchment, mounting marks to the parchment. Some ink smudges, minimal text interference. Slightly cropped.
