A single leaf on parchment, c. 168 x 109 mm, from an attractive Book of Hours with geometric line fillers. The leaf is ruled in red ink, c. 89 x 63 mm (ruled), written on fifteen lines to the recto, and eight lines to the verso in brown ink in a gothic script, rubrics and underlining in red, with line fillers in burnished gold, red, and blue with white tracery detailing, with six single-line burnished gold initials on red and blue grounds with white tracery. The text contains text from the Office for the Dead at the Hour of Lauds. The recto opens with Canticum Ezechiae [Isaia 38], Vive[n]s vivens ip[s]e confiteb[itu]r tibi, (The living the living he shall confess to you).
 
A very good example. There is some discolouration and staining to the parchment, including ink displacement. Legibility of text to the verso is impacted by rubbing. Mount mark to parchment. Small chip to the lower right margin.
