A single leaf on parchment, c. 168 x 109 mm, from an attractive Book of Hours with a partial ivy vine leaf border with golden discs and flowers in red and blue  The leaf is ruled in red ink, c. 89 x 63 mm (ruled), written on fifteen lines in brown ink in a gothic script, rubrics in red, with line fillers in burnished gold, red, and blue with white tracery detailing, with one two-line and ten burnished gold initials on red and blue grounds with white tracery. The text contains text from the Office for the Dead at the Hour of Vespers. The recto opens with the end of Psalm 119 ’me gratis’, which is followed by the opening of Psalm 120 ’Levavi oculos meos i[n] montes’, (I have lifted up mine eyes unto the mountains).
 
A very good example. the leaf has water damage which is particularly prevalent to the verso, the text in places is illegible. There is also general discolouration an rubbing. There is a long slit on the lower margin of the parchment. Partially cropped decorated margin impacted.
