A fine Arundel Society chromolithograph of the Dombild Altarpiece. Five panels, the central measuring 390 x 410mm, the outer four each measuring 390 x 200mm.

The central panel shows the Magi in adoration. St Ursula stands in the left-hand panel with the virgins with whom she was martyred, and the right panel contains St Gereon with his companions. The panels on the outside, which are the outside of the doors of the original altarpiece, show the Annunciation.

Housed in interlocking 19th century ebonised oak frames by A. & F. Ponzini, the whole measuring 500 x 1680mm when fully extended. A very good example indeed. Arundel Society labels to the backs of three of the panels.

PROVENANCE: “H.E. Howell, Esq. 50 Lancaster Road, Notting Hill, March 30 / [18]98” to framer’s label on the back of the central panel.
