An exceptional finely painted vellum binding, very much in the manner of Edwards Of Halifax.
Duodecimo. The upper board depicts the Crucifixion and the lower board shows the Resurrection with gilt borders and edges, lettered and decorated in gilt to spine with blue, gilt edges with marbled endpapers encased in a green straight grain morocco slipcase with gilt borders.
A fine example, the vellum, the paintings are bright, slight rubbing to spine, pencil inscription to flyleaf, some pages uncut. Slipcase a little rubbed.
