An Edwards Of Halifax vellucent binding. Octavo. Original vellum over boards, spine lettered gilt, with this and the metope-and-pentaglyph roll to the base under a blue wash. Gilt rolls to covers, with blue wash, and fine grisaille paintings under the vellum, with a classical female figure to the upper cover, and Fountains Abbey to the lower cover.
 
A very good copy, the binding a little rubbed and dusty, gilt worn away in places.
