Allen & Unwin issued their first Tolkien calendar in 1973 (The J.R.R. Tolkien Calendar 1974), before turning to individual books as their inspiration, with The Hobbit Calendar 1976; The Lord Of The Rings Calendar 1977; and The Silmarillion Calendar 1978.
