A monumental Arudnel Society Memling Passion Altarpiece, with nine chromolithographs in the original ebonised frame. The central panel of the triptych shows the Crucifixion, with the Carrying Of The Cross on the left wing, and the Entombment and Resurrection on the right wing. The first opening has four panels, shows Saint Blaise, John The Baptist, Saint Jerome, and Saint. The exterior, shown when the altarpiece is closed, shows the Annunciation across two panels.
Each panel housing a chromolithograph, with brass title plates under the central panel and each of the saints. The central panel 560 x 400mm, the eight side panels each 560 x 170mm. An attractive and bright example with vibrant chromolithographs. One corner of the wooden stand missing.
One of the last known large Memling triptychs, and the only one to present the Crucifixion in detail.
